David Nash is making a new, monumental sculpture from Sussex Oak especially for With the Grain, Wood Sculpture by David Nash, in Lewes. The fifteen-foot sculpture will be displayed in Southover Grange Gardens throughout the exhibition.

As the sculpture developed David Nash changed his idea for an egg to a bud. The photographs show how the sculptures progressed from tree trunk through to the sculpture nearing completion. This oak grew in Sussex.
