Lewes is the County Town of East Sussex. There are regular trains from London Victoria (approximately 1 hour) and Brighton (approximately 15 minutes, and regular bus services from Brighton, Eastbourne and Newhaven.
The town is at the junction of the north-south A275, the A26, and the east-west A27. There is ample parking in the town, and the Town Hall is a short walk from the train and bus stations. Attractions in the town include Lewes Castle and Anne of Cleves House. Nearby are Glyndebourne Opera. Charleston, and museums and galleries in Brighton, Hove and in Eastbourne.
