Throughout the exhibition sculpture workshops will be held in the Corn Exchange, which is adjacent to the Assembly Room of Lewes Town Hall and at other venues. The workshops will be led by the sculptor Hamish Black, who has worked with Anthony Caro and whose studio is in East Chiltington, and Derek Howarth, one of Caro’s former studio assistants who now runs his own workshop, Dunbeath Art Works at Caithness in Northern Scotland. Silver workshops will be run by Hamish Black and silversmith Andy Chapman of South Coast Silver Smiths. Differing forms of workshop sessions offer flexibility for participants who may choose the timing and type most suitable for their needs. Sessions
are open to the public, school groups, special interest
groups and people with special needs. It is advisable to attend
more than one session if work is to be realised in steel or
silver. |
