Instructions for making the paper head

Equipment needed
Hand stapler (with a stapling reach of 65mm or more)
Standard file paper hole punch
Craft knife/scalpel (although scissors will do)
PVA glue

Method:

Lay the paper print down, with the head facing you on a cutting surface
With a scalpel/craft knife, cut along the three white/grey lines on and
around the head

(1) The face profile around to the chin
(2) The hairline around and out to the right hand side of the sheet
(3) Make a short cut down the jaw line on the right cheek

Punch a hole in t hole in the white margin on each side of the paper about half
way up as indicated

Using this hole for alignment, overlap the edge margin and form the
lower part of the sheet with the image on the outside into a cylinder.
Align the bottom edge so the head can stand up. Fix with two staples,
as indicated ('s') one from the bottom and the other along the margin.

Slip the marked X on the cut section from the right of the hairline into
the slot (3) down the jaw line on the right cheek. Fix in place with a spot
of glue.

The top edge of this cut out should fall easily between the second
and third hair bump, giving the head a floppy frame.

The head can be stood or hung on the wall from the hole in the back.
If lit obliquely this will dramatise its 3D qualities.
